"In the first race of the regatta, a very spirited Quintin Boat Club crew were led off the start by Leander Club who led by three-quarters of a length at the Barrier. They held on gamely at a lower rate of striking, challenging all the way over the course, before losing by one-third of a length." [HRR]

(Quintin's implied time of 6:27 was faster than the winners of all other Thames Cup races on that day and is the fastest ever by a Quintin crew at HRR.)
