The Head of the River 1966: This was a fun scratch VIII entered in the 1966 HORR. And it really was scratch! The crew met on the Saturday morning, lunched in the Bull's Head and raced in the afternoon starting at number 108. The boat was old and the oars were skinny. Ced Nowell cannot remember the exact finishing position but does recollect that it was in the 30's, good enough to beat the Club's 2nd. VIII of that year.
