The rowing lake, FISA World Masters, Viareggio, Italy, September 1990
This vast lake contained the rowing course across its breadth (right to left in the picture), and cut up very rough on the second day of the regatta. The Quintin crews raced in the severest of Tideway conditions, the Vet B 4- being halted just before the finish by a wave breaking right over its bow canvas - enough to lose 1st place. The VIII, however, went on to win (see next picture) before racing was cancelled for the rest of the day.
